HTET Previous Year Question Papers 2021 with Answer Keys – HTET Old question paper with answer key
The Board of School Education, Haryana conducted HTET 2021 on 18 and 19 December that year — PGT on the 18th, TGT on the 19th, with PRT run as part of the same cycle. Whatever’s changed in your preparation since then, the paper itself hasn’t: same structure, same marking rules, same 150-question format across all three levels. This is the complete download hub for that cycle — every HTET 2021 question paper, PRT through PGT, with the matching official BSEH answer key next to each one. Today we are providing HTET previous year question paper with answer key.
Older papers like this one are useful precisely because the pattern doesn’t shift much year to year. If you’re building a bank of previous papers to practice with, 2021 is a solid one to add — distinct enough from the more recent cycles to give you fresh questions, close enough in format that everything you learn from it still applies.

The Shared Exam Structure Across All Three Levels
PRT, TGT and PGT are built on an identical 90-mark common core, then split for the remaining 60 marks depending on the post.
The 90-Mark Common Core
| Section | Marks |
|---|---|
| Child Development & Pedagogy | 30 |
| Languages (Hindi 15 + English 15) | 30 |
| General Studies (Quant. Aptitude 10 + Reasoning 10 + Haryana GK 10) | 30 |
Where the Levels Diverge
PRT candidates split the remaining 60 marks between Core Mathematics (30) and Environmental Studies (30). TGT and PGT instead put the full 60 marks on the candidate’s chosen specialization — Science, Sanskrit, Commerce, whatever subject they registered under. This is the one structural difference between PRT and the other two levels; everything else in the pattern lines up.
Scoring the 2021 Papers Correctly
Match your question booklet’s set code against the correct answer-key series before you start marking — BSEH runs multiple question sets to limit copying, and using the wrong key series will throw off your entire score.
The math itself is simple: total score equals correct answers, since each right answer earns one mark and there’s no penalty for a wrong one. 118 correct out of 150 means a raw score of 118 — nothing to adjust for.
One thing to keep in mind with 2021 specifically: BSEH’s final key sometimes differs slightly from the provisional one released right after the exam, after the board reviews objections raised during the challenge window. If you’re scoring against the provisional key rather than the final revised version, your count might be a mark or two off from what the official scorecard eventually showed.
Frequently Asked Questions
When exactly was HTET 2021 held?
PGT (Level 3) was conducted on 18 December 2021 and TGT/PRT on 19 December 2021, with BSEH releasing the answer key shortly after on 20 December 2021.
Is the common section identical across PRT, TGT and PGT in 2021?
The syllabus topics for CDP, Languages and General Studies are the same across all three levels, but question difficulty scales up with the teaching level — PGT’s common section is noticeably harder than the same topics tested at PRT.
Are these 2021 papers still worth solving today?
Yes. BSEH’s question format and difficulty haven’t shifted dramatically since, and having an extra full paper to practice with, distinct from the more recent cycles, is genuinely useful for building exam stamina.
What is the HTET qualifying cutoff?
90 marks out of 150 (60%) for General category candidates, and 82 marks out of 150 (55%) for SC and PH candidates of Haryana, uniform across all three levels and consistent across recent cycles.
Does HTET have negative marking?
No. There is no negative marking at any HTET level, so attempting every question — including an educated guess — can only help your raw score.
