HTET PGT Old Sample Question Papers 2020 – HTET Previous Year Question Papers 2020 – HTET Old Papers
Quick context before the download links: the “HTET 2020” PGT paper was actually sat on 2 January 2021, after BSEH delayed the original 2020 schedule. The 2020 label stuck because that’s the notification cycle it belongs to. Naming aside, this is still a genuinely useful paper — twenty-one subjects, real questions, the actual difficulty BSEH set that cycle. This page has every HTET PGT 2020 subject paper alongside its official answer key.
What You Actually Learn From a Cycle-Old Paper
A syllabus PDF lists topics; it can’t show you how a topic turns into a question, or how many marks it actually carries versus how much space it takes up in the syllabus. The htet pgt previous year question paper from this cycle answers both. It also reveals patterns — the specific way BSEH frames a Political Science question as a scenario rather than a definition, or which Haryana GK facts keep showing up year after year regardless of the exam cycle.
The clock is the other half of the equation. 150 questions, 150 minutes, and the only honest way to find out if that’s enough time for your subject is to sit a full attempt and check the damage against the real answer key afterward.
HTET PGT Exam Pattern & Marking Scheme
| Section | Topics Covered | Questions |
|---|---|---|
| Child Development & Pedagogy | Learning theories, inclusive education, classroom management | 30 |
| Language I & II | Hindi and English — grammar, comprehension, language pedagogy | 30 |
| General Studies | Quantitative Aptitude (10), Reasoning Ability (10), Haryana GK (10) | 30 |
| Concerned Subject | The candidate’s chosen PGT subject — see the download table below | 60 |
150 marks total, one mark per correct answer, no negative marking — so there’s no reason to skip a question you can narrow down at all. Duration is 150 minutes. Qualifying cutoff: 90 out of 150 (60%) for General category, 82 out of 150 (55%) for SC and PH candidates of Haryana.

How to Actually Use This Paper
Sit the Full 150 Minutes, No Exceptions
No pausing, no phone within reach. A paper solved casually and one solved under real conditions produce noticeably different scores, and only the second one tells you anything useful.
Sort Your Wrong Answers Instead of Just Counting Them
A raw score out of 150 is a headline number, not a diagnosis. Go through every miss and classify it: genuine knowledge gap, misread question, or a guess that didn’t land. Each needs a different fix, and treating them the same wastes your remaining revision time.
Trust the Official Key Over Reposted Copies
Score against the BSEH answer key linked above rather than a version reproduced on some other site, where transcription errors on genuinely ambiguous questions do happen — a real risk in subjects like Commerce and Political Science, where more than one answer can look defensible at first glance.
Retake It Closer to Exam Day
Solve your subject’s paper once early to find weak areas, revise those specifically, then come back to the same paper nearer your exam date. A real improvement on the second attempt tells you the revision actually worked, rather than just feeling like it did.
Frequently Asked Questions
When was the HTET 2020 PGT exam actually held?
On 2 January 2021, after the original 2020 schedule was delayed; the exam is still referred to as the 2020 cycle based on when it was originally notified.
Are the 2020-cycle PGT papers bilingual?
Yes, across every common section, except the specific language-subject papers, which are naturally tested in that one language alone.
Is solving one old PGT paper enough preparation?
It’s a strong benchmark and diagnostic, but it needs to sit alongside full syllabus revision and a few more timed mock attempts before your actual exam.
How much is the concerned-subject section worth in PGT?
60 out of 150 total marks — the single largest section, which is why most candidates attempt it first while they’re still fresh.
