What is HTET?

HTET is an exam for Haryana school teachers from primary to senior secondary level. It is conducted by the Board of School Education in Haryana every year. There are three levels in this exam for all three staircase education systems, e.g., primary teacher, high school, and senior secondary teacher.

The aspirant who wants to become a teacher can attempt this exam. There are a total of 14,380 government schools till 2016 (as per government records 2016) in Haryana. There are total Govt. Senior Secondary Schools in Haryana of 1842, total Govt. High Schools in Haryana of 1372, total Govt. Middle Schools in Haryana of 2395, and total Govt. Primary Schools in Haryana of 8705.

1. Level 1 (Primary Teacher): For teaching students from Class I to V.

2. Level 2 (Trained Graduate Teacher): For teaching students from Class VI to VIII.

3. Level 3 (Post Graduate Teacher): For teaching students from Class IX to XII.

PRT Age Limit

After reading HTET Exam Patter 2024 we are here to discuss about Haryana HTET Teacher PRT, TGT, and PGT age limit. As per Board of School Education Haryana guidelines candidates must be 18 years old and not older than 38 years. Candidate must have the Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appear in final year of 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known), in accordance with the NCTE (Recognition Norms and Procedure) Regulations, 2007 notified on 31 August 2009.

OR

Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 45% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 2 year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known), in accordance with the NCTE (Recognition Norms and Procedure), Regulations,2002.

OR

Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed OR appearing in final year of 4 year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed).

OR


Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed OR appearing in final year of 2 year Diploma in Education (Special Education).


OR

Graduation and passed or appearing in final year of two year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known).
ii) Matric with Hindi/Sanskrit or Sr. Secondary/Graduation / Post Graduation with Hindi as one of the subjects.

TGT Age Limit:

Level-2-For becoming Teacher for Classes VI-VIII: Trained Graduate Teacher (TGT):

As per Board of School Education Haryana guidelines candidates must be 18 years old and not older than 38 years.

Bachelor’s degree from a recognized university with at least 50% marks in respective subject as elective or Honours subject and as a Subject Special teaching subject in BTC/JBT/D.Ed. (Diploma in Education)/Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed.);

Hindi or Sanskrit as one of the subject in Matric or Hindi as one of the subject in Higher Education.

PGT Age Limit:

Level –3 : Post Graduate Teacher (PGT) (1)English, (2) Hindi, (3) Geography, (4) Home Science, (5)Sociology, (6) Psychology, (7) Punjabi, (8) Urdu, (9) History;

(i) Post Graduate Degree in the concerned subject with at least 50% marks from a recognized university and B.Ed. from recognized university; AND
(ii) Matric with Hindi/Sanskrit or Sr. Secondary/Graduation/Post Graduation with Hindi as one of the Subjects; AND
(iii) Consistent good academic record.
