HTET PRT Old Sample Question Paper 2019 – HTET Previous Year Question Paper
BSEH ran HTET 2019 over two days, 16 and 17 November, with results not declared until 9 January 2020 — a gap of nearly two months between sitting the paper and finding out where you stood. If you’re preparing for Level 1 today, you don’t have to wait that long: this page gives you the actual 2019 PRT question paper as a PDF and the official BSEH answer key, so you can score yourself the same day you solve it.
Why an Older Paper Is Still a Fair Test
The HTET PRT format — CDP, languages, general studies, maths and EVS — hasn’t changed shape since 2019. What has changed is how much of it candidates actually practice with real papers versus just reading the syllabus. Solving this one tells you something a syllabus can’t: exactly how BSEH phrases a question, which options are built to look right but aren’t, and how much of the paper you can genuinely finish inside 150 minutes.
There’s also a selection benefit to going a little further back. If you’ve already worked through the last two or three cycles, this 2019 paper gives you a full fresh set of 150 questions you haven’t seen or half-memorized from repeated practice.
HTET PRT (Level 1) Exam Pattern & Marking Scheme
| Section | Topics Covered | Questions |
|---|---|---|
| Child Development & Pedagogy | Learning theories, inclusive education, classroom management | 30 |
| Language I & II | Hindi and English — grammar, comprehension, pedagogy of language teaching | 30 |
| General Studies | Quantitative Aptitude (10), Reasoning Ability (10), Haryana GK (10) | 30 |
| Mathematics & EVS | Core Mathematics (30) + Environmental Studies, Classes I–V (30) | 60 |
150 marks, one mark per correct answer, no negative marking — a rule BSEH has kept in place across every cycle on record. Duration is 150 minutes. Qualifying score: 90 out of 150 (60%) for General category candidates, 82 out of 150 (55%) for SC and PH candidates of Haryana.

Getting Real Value Out of This Paper
Time It Like the Actual Exam
150 minutes, uninterrupted. Solving this untimed will tell you what you know; solving it with a real clock running will tell you whether you can produce that knowledge fast enough when it counts.
Score First, Diagnose Second
Mark every answer against the official 2019 key above before you do anything else. Then go back through each miss and split it into two piles: things you didn’t know, and things you knew but got wrong anyway. Only the second pile is a speed or carelessness problem — treat them differently.
Clear the Fast Sections First
Language questions are usually quicker to answer correctly than Mathematics or CDP scenario questions. Banking those minutes early gives you breathing room for the sections that genuinely need more thinking time.
Use It Twice
Solve the paper once to map your weak spots, spend a focused week or two fixing those specifically, then return to this same 2019 paper and solve it again. A real jump in score is the clearest signal that the revision actually worked, not just that you got lucky the second time.
