HTET PGT Old Sample Question Papers 2019 – HTET Old Exam Papers with Answers Keys Level 1, Level 2 and Level 3
PGT is the widest of the three HTET levels — twenty-one separate subject papers in the 2019 cycle alone, run on 16–17 November that year. If you’re chasing a Post Graduate Teacher post, this page gives you every one of those subject papers as a PDF, matched with its official BSEH answer key, so you can test yourself against the actual exam BSEH set rather than a coaching institute’s version of it.
What This Paper Tells You That the Syllabus Can’t
A syllabus document lists topics; it doesn’t show you how BSEH turns those topics into a scored question, or how much weight one topic actually carries compared to how much syllabus space it takes up. The htet pgt previous year question paper from 2019 answers both directly. Work through it and certain patterns become obvious — how Political Science questions get framed as scenarios rather than definitions, or which Haryana GK facts keep resurfacing regardless of exam year.
The other half of the equation is timing. 150 questions, 150 minutes, and the only honest way to know if that’s enough for your subject is to sit a full attempt and check the result against the real answer key afterward.
HTET PGT Exam Pattern & Marking Scheme
| Section | Topics Covered | Questions |
|---|---|---|
| Child Development & Pedagogy | Learning theories, inclusive education, classroom management | 30 |
| Language I & II | Hindi and English — grammar, comprehension, language pedagogy | 30 |
| General Studies | Quantitative Aptitude (10), Reasoning Ability (10), Haryana GK (10) | 30 |
| Concerned Subject | The candidate’s chosen PGT subject — see the download table below | 60 |
150 marks total, one mark per correct answer, and no negative marking — so there’s never a reason to skip a question you can narrow down at all. Duration is 150 minutes. Qualifying cutoff: 90 out of 150 (60%) for General category, 82 out of 150 (55%) for SC and PH candidates of Haryana.

How to Actually Use This Paper
Give It the Full 150 Minutes
No pausing, phone somewhere else entirely. The gap between a paper solved casually and one solved under real conditions is bigger than most candidates expect, and only the second version tells you anything useful.
Classify Your Mistakes Before You Move On
A raw score is a headline, not a diagnosis. Go through every wrong answer and sort it: genuine knowledge gap, misread question, or a guess that didn’t pay off. Each of those needs a different fix, and treating them the same wastes the time you have left before your exam.
Trust the Official Key, Not a Reprinted Copy
Score against the BSEH answer key linked above rather than a version reproduced elsewhere, where transcription errors do happen — a real risk in subjects like Commerce and Political Science, where the correct answer on a borderline question is sometimes genuinely arguable.
Come Back and Solve It Again
Attempt your subject’s paper once early to spot weak areas, revise those specifically, then return to the same 2019 paper closer to your exam date. A real improvement on the second attempt is the clearest sign the revision actually worked.
Frequently Asked Questions
When was HTET PGT 2019 conducted?
PGT was part of the 16-17 November 2019 exam cycle, with BSEH releasing the official answer key on 19 November 2019 and the result later on 9 January 2020.
Are the 2019 PGT papers bilingual?
Yes, across every common section, except the specific language-subject papers, which are naturally tested in that one language alone.
Is one old PGT paper enough preparation?
It’s a strong benchmark and diagnostic, but it needs to sit alongside full syllabus revision and a few more timed mock attempts before your actual exam.
How much is the concerned-subject section worth in PGT?
60 out of 150 total marks — the single largest section, which is why most candidates attempt it first while they’re still fresh.
Twenty-one subjects, one consistent pattern, a real 2019 paper for each of them — solve yours under genuine time pressure, check it against the official key above, and let the results shape the rest of your revision.
