HTET PRT Previous Year Question Papers 2024
There’s only one link on this page, and that’s not me being lazy with the folder. PRT is the one HTET level where BSEH doesn’t split the paper by subject. Every candidate, whatever they’ll eventually teach, sits the exact same 150-question paper. So one PDF is the correct number of PDFs.
HaryanaGk.in provides HTET PRT Previous Year Question Papers 2024 for upcoming HTET Exam Papers 2026.

Quick Facts: HTET PRT 2024 Paper
PRT is Level 1 of HTET, the qualifying test for Primary Teacher posts, classes 1 to 5. The paper runs 150 objective questions for 150 marks in 2 hours 30 minutes, with no negative marking. Guess if you must, it costs you nothing. BSEH prints it in four shuffled sets (A, B, C, D) so the candidate next to you isn’t looking at the same question in the same slot, though the syllabus and marks split are identical across all four.
What’s Actually in the PRT Paper
This is where PRT breaks from TGT and PGT. Those two levels dedicate 90 of their 150 marks to one specific subject. PRT doesn’t, because a primary teacher isn’t hired to teach one subject. They’re hired to teach all of them to a five-year-old and a ten-year-old with equal patience. Download HTET PRT Previous Year Question Papers 2024. So the paper splits into five even blocks of 30 marks each:
- Child Development and Pedagogy
- Language I (usually Hindi)
- Language II (usually English or Sanskrit, depending on your choice at registration)
- Mathematics
- Environmental Studies
Five sections, thirty marks apiece, no section carrying more weight than another. That evenness is exactly why PRT candidates who over-invest in Child Development theory and under-invest in Environmental Studies tend to underperform relative to their coaching-class scores. Every section pulls its own weight on results day.
How to Prepare Using This Paper
One paper isn’t enough to build a full strategy around, so treat it as your calibration test, not your only test.
Attempt it cold, under time pressure. Set the clock for 2 hours 30 minutes and go through all 150 before checking a single answer. The goal here is honest data on your pacing across five sections. Most first-timers spend too long on Mathematics and run out of time on Environmental Studies, the section people underestimate the most.
Score each section separately, not just the paper as a whole. A 70% overall score can hide a section sitting at 40%. Environmental Studies and Language II are the two that usually drag an otherwise strong score down, because candidates prep them last and lightest.
Cross-check against NCERT, not coaching notes. HTET’s Environmental Studies and Pedagogy questions lean heavily on NCERT’s own framing of concepts. Coaching material tends to paraphrase it, and small paraphrase differences are exactly where wrong options get picked.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is there a subject-wise HTET PRT question paper, like PGT and TGT have?
No. PRT is a single common paper for every candidate. There’s no subject split because primary teachers cover all subjects. See the HTET PGT and HTET TGT pages if you need the subject-wise papers for those levels.
How many questions are in the HTET PRT paper, and is there negative marking?
150 questions for 150 marks, 2 hours 30 minutes, no negative marking.
What are the sections in the HTET PRT paper?
Five equal 30-mark sections: Child Development and Pedagogy, Language I, Language II, Mathematics, and Environmental Studies.
Do I need to create an account to download this paper?
No. The link above opens the PDF directly on Google Drive.
What’s the difference between HTET PRT and CTET Paper 1?
They test a near-identical pattern and syllabus. Both are Level 1/Paper 1 tests for primary teaching. HTET PRT is Haryana-specific and required for Haryana government primary teacher posts; CTET is the central-level equivalent and doesn’t by itself qualify you for Haryana state recruitment.
