Quick Facts: HTET TGT 2024 Paper

HTET TGT is Level 2 of the exam, meant for Trained Graduate Teacher posts (classes 6 to 8). Same core format as the other two levels: 150 objective questions, 150 marks, 2 hours 30 minutes, zero negative marking. BSEH prints four sets per subject (A, B, C, D) with identical syllabus coverage, just shuffled to stop copying.

The booklet splits into two parts. Questions 1–30 cover Child Development and Pedagogy. Questions 31–60 are Hindi and English language combined. The remaining 90 questions, 61 through 150, are your actual teaching subject: Science, Social Studies, Sanskrit, whichever you’re appearing for. That subject block is worth more than half the paper, which is exactly where most TGT candidates should be spending their revision hours, not on CDP theory they half-remember from a coaching PDF.

TGT vs PGT vs PRT – Which One Are You Actually Preparing For?

Candidates mix these up more than you’d think, so a quick check before you download the wrong 150 questions. TGT (Level 2, this page) qualifies you for classes 6–8. PGT (Level 3) is for classes 9–12 and needs a postgraduate degree plus B.Ed. PRT (Level 1) is for classes 1–5 and is the only one of the three with a single common paper instead of a subject-wise split. Everyone sitting PRT gets the same question paper regardless of what they’ll eventually teach.

How to Prepare With These Papers (Without Wasting a Week)

Most people download a stack of PDFs, read through them once like a novel, and feel prepared. They’re not. Here’s what actually works, and it takes three passes per paper, not one:

Pass one: full-length, under real time pressure. No pausing to Google an answer. 2 hours 30 minutes, phone away, attempt all 150. If you don’t finish, that’s data. You now know your pacing problem exists before exam day tells you the hard way.

Pass two: sort your mistakes by type. A wrong answer because you genuinely didn’t know the fact is a syllabus gap. A wrong answer because you knew it and still picked the wrong option is a pressure or reading problem. Treating both the same way (“revise more”) fixes neither.

Pass three: read two or three years side by side. Pull last year’s Science paper next to this one. The exact questions won’t repeat, but BSEH tends to circle back to the same NCERT concepts with the numbers or context changed. Spotting which chapters keep showing up is worth more than one more full read-through of the textbook.
